Day Retreat: “With Open Hands”
With Lea Slaton
June 11, 2025
Join us for a day of retreat inspired by Henri Nouwen’s “With Open Hands” presented by Well of Mercy’s Executive Director, Lea Slaton.
Open hands are not only a beautiful image for prayer but also an image of resistance in today’s fist-happy culture. Open-handed living means that we are not balling up our hands in anger, wringing our hands in fear, grasping for the latest deal of the day, or clinging to a particular outcome. Open-handed living means deliberate hospitality to the Holy Spirit, and that hospitality takes intention and practice!
During this quiet day, through scripture, story, prayer and creative activity, we will immerse ourselves in this hospitality as we listen for the Spirit’s personal invitation to live “with open hands.”
Check in at the Well House when you arrive.
Bring a journal, pen, water bottle and wear weather appropriate clothing.
Lunch will be provided.
