They Refuse to be Ignored: The Witness of Biblical Women
With Katerina Katsarka Whitley
September 26 - 28, 2025
Over the span of 15 centuries, nearly 400 women appear in the pages of the Bible—some named, many unnamed. Though often overlooked in history and theology, their stories are powerful, complex, and deeply human. In this retreat, we’ll explore the lives of several biblical women whose presence—however brief—refuses to be ignored.
Beloved for her dramatic readings that have inspired countless listeners, Katerina Katsarka Whitley brings these stories to life with depth, imagination, and heart. Now devoted to writing, teaching, and leading retreats, she invites you to engage Scripture in a fresh and meaningful way. Together, we will reflect on these women’s lives, explore questions of identity and encounter, and create space to write and respond in our own voice.
Join us for this special overnight retreat at Well of Mercy, where in addition to rich conversation and guided sessions, you’ll have time to enjoy the peaceful grounds, walk the trails, and take part in other offerings that support rest, renewal, and reflection.
