Unplugging the Christmas Machine Day Retreat
With Lea Slaton
October 28, 2026
“Christmas has become so commercialized.”
“I hardly have time to breathe in December.”
“Honestly, I can’t wait for Christmas to be over.”
If any of these thoughts sound familiar, this retreat may be just what you need. Based on the beloved book Unplug the Christmas Machine by Jo Robinson and Jean Staeheli, this workshop invites participants to plan ahead to step away from the stress and pressure of the holiday season and rediscover a more meaningful, joy-filled celebration of Christmas.
Together, we will reflect on our current holiday practices, clarify the values and experiences that matter most, imagine what a truly life-giving Christmas could look like, and create a realistic plan for celebrating the season with greater peace, intention, and delight. Through conversation, reflection, and simple practices, participants will be encouraged to embrace a calmer, more soulful approach to Advent and Christmas.
Come spend the day with us and nurture your spirit. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot soon.
- Lunch will be provided.
- Wear comfortable weather appropriate clothes and shoes.
- Bring a water bottle and a journal.
